Position Title: Daycare Classroom Assistant

Pay: $13.00-$18.00

Job Summary:
The Daycare Classroom Assistant supports the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This role involves assisting with daily classroom activities, supervising children, and fostering a positive learning atmosphere. The ideal candidate is patient, responsible, and enthusiastic about early childhood education.
Key Responsibilities:
Child Supervision:
- Monitor children at all times to ensure safety and well-being.
- Guide children in managing their behavior using positive reinforcement techniques.
Support Learning Activities:
- Assist with implementing the daily curriculum and activities designed by the Lead Teacher.
- Engage with children during play, story time, and educational activities.
- Help prepare educational materials and classroom setups.
Assist with Daily Care Tasks:
- Aid in meal and snack times, including setup, supervision, and cleanup.
- Support children with bathroom routines and diaper changes, as needed.
- Ensure a clean and organized classroom environment by assisting with sanitization and cleanup tasks.
Communication:
- Communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents.
- Report any issues, concerns, or incidents to the Lead Teacher or Daycare Director.
Support Developmental Goals:
- Encourage social, emotional, and cognitive development through age-appropriate activities.
- Foster an inclusive environment where each child feels valued and respected.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
Experience:
- Prior experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Patient, compassionate, and attentive to the needs of young children.
Certifications:
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
Background check clearance required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
